Market Turnover:

The total market turnover plummeted by 33.7%, closing the session at just TZS 1 million—sharply down from the previous TZS 1.51 billion. A notable cooling of investor activity.

Top Movers:

Tanzania Cigarette Company (TCC) dominated the trading floor, contributing a staggering 70.13% of total turnover. Other key movers included CRDB, NICO, NMB, and TCCL—highlighting a focused yet active trading environment.

Market Participation:

Local investors ruled the day, accounting for 100% of both buying and selling activity. As a result, there was no net foreign cash outflow—a rare all-domestic trading session.

Market Capitalization:

Overall market capitalization edged up by 1.438% to TZS 19,587.43 billion, reflecting subtle upward momentum. Domestic market capitalization also inched higher by 0.019% to TZS 13,260.32 billion—driven primarily by gains in MKCB, DCB, and AFRIPRISE.

Gainer & Losers:

It was a positive day for a few standout stocks: MKCB soared by 7.27% to TZS 590, DCB gained 4.00% to TZS 130, AFRIPRISE climbed 1.89% to TZS 270.

Fixed Income Market:

The bond market remained vibrant, recording TZS 15.91 billion in face value traded and a transaction volume of TZS 17.30 billion across 70 deals. Activity spanned across 15-, 20-, and 25-year government bonds as well as NMB’s corporate bond—showing continued appetite for long-term instruments.
